Constitution Week Celebration 2025

The Col. William Allen Chapter DAR, along with the IOW County Museum and the 1750 Courthouse will celebrate constitution day on September 13. Members of the DAR will set up a table with info. about the chapter and the DAR.

Painted rocks have been hidden along Main Street. If you find one, turn into the Museum for a treat bag.

Gather at the Museum at 11 am for a program titled’ “Memories of the Revolutionary War” by Mary Thompson Mitchell.

At 12 noon gather at the 1750 Courthouse to visit with DAR and courthouse members for a recitation of the country’s pledge, a proclamation by Smithfield’s Mayor, remarks from the courthouse members and music by drum and fife.
